While only eleven tracks are featured on the standard copy of Lies for the Liars, bonus tracks were released on certain versions. In total, the band have stated that they have recorded 19 songs, from 40 that were written in preparation for the album, however some members have said 20 songs were recorded. Those songs not featured on a version of the album were released as bonus tracks and on singles.
This is the first album without Branden Steineckert as the drummer. He was kicked out of the band in the summer of 2006. Dean Butterworth of Good CharlotteDan Whitesides toured with the band and was later announced the official new drummer. recorded the drums for the album.
