Eric Avery - Help Wanted
Many more people probably know the name Perry Ferrell then know the name Eric Avery, which is unfair, since Avery co-founded Jane’s Addiction with Ferrell. Since those hazy ‘80s days, Avery has gone on to lead the band Polar Bear and play with the likes of the Smashing Pumpkins, Alanis Morisette, Peter Murphy, and Garbage. That last band’s lead singer, Shirley Manson, makes a guest appearance on Help Wanted, Avery’s first true solo album. So do Flea (playing trumpet, not bass) and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. Of Help Wanted’s thirteen mostly gloomy, introspective tracks, three are subtitled “The Man Who Could Fly.”

Scary Kids Scaring Kids
The self-titled Scary Kids Scaring Kids second album was released on August 28, 2007, featuring the new song "Faces".
Scary Kids Scaring Kids had recently put up a picture on their Myspace saying "July 4th, 2007 it begins..." and there was much speculation as to what that may have meant. On July 4th, 2007 information about the new album as well as the new song, "Faces," were released.
It also seems as Scary Kids Scaring Kids will be releasing this album through RCA as they are currently on the label's website in the artists section.
On the sticker on the wrapping of the CD, it states that the album features "the hit singles 'Faces' and 'The Deep End'", meaning that "The Deep End" is likely to become a future single.
The album peaked at #80 on the Billboard 200.
Also, the song "Snake Devil" became a digital single on iTunes on 10/26 as well as a single of the week for that week.

Liverpool 8 - Ringo Starr
Liverpool 8 is the fourteenth studio album by Ringo Starr. It was released worldwide on January 14, 2008 (January 15 in the United States) and marks Starr's return to EMI for the first time since leaving the label in 1975, following the end of The Beatles' recording contract with the company.[1] Although technically Starr did make a brief re-appearance on EMI in the mid-1990s, as when his 1981 album Stop and Smell the Roses and his 1983 album Old WaveBoardwalk Records) were issued on CD, they appeared on Capitol's The Right Stuff label. Liverpool 8 was released by EMI Music worldwide, Capitol Records in the United States, and Parlophone in the United Kingdom. (both originally released on
The album was originally slated for a June 2007 release, and began as another production by the collaborative team of Mark Hudson and Starr (the two had previously co-produced Vertical Man, I Wanna Be Santa Claus, VH1 Storytellers, Ringo Rama, and Choose Love). However, the release date was pushed back to the beginning of 2008 when Hudson was replaced by Dave Stewart after a falling out with Starr. (The album's production credits read, "Produced by Ringo Starr and Mark Hudson; Re-Produced by Ringo Starr and David Stewart." All of the songs but one were written with the Roundheads, although Stewart also has several co-writing credits.) Starr's attorney Bruce Grakal told journalist Peter Palmiere that the partnership between Hudson and Starr was over and they would never work together again. This happened after Hudson dropped out of Starr's 2006 tour as musical director to do the TV show The One: Making A Music Star. According to Palmiere, Hudson now claims that the split was over Starr's insistence on using synthesized sounds, for which Stewart is known, whereas Hudson wanted real guitars, pianos, strings etc.[1] However, about the parting with Hudson, Starr said (in response to Palmiere's report), "The separation between Mark Hudson and myself was a question of trust and friendship and had nothing to do with synthesizers."
The album was released on CD, MP3, and USB Wristband. It was available as a free audio stream at www.vh1classic.com before its release date.
"Liverpool 8" was released on CD and digital download as the first single from the album on January 7, 2008.

Lifehouse - lifehouse
Lifehouse is the eponymous third album by the group Lifehouse, which was released on March 22, 2005 through Geffen Records.
The album is unique to the band because it deviates from their previous musical style. Heavy guitar riffs and catchy rhythms that dominated No Name Face and Stanley Climbfall were replaced on Lifehouse with slower melodies and crooning vocals by lead singer Jason Wade. There is more of an overall mournful tone as well, which replaced Wade's past robust efforts.
The album received mixed reviews, but was more popular than their previous album, Stanley Climbfall, and has sold 895,000 units to date. The album primarily rode the success of the popular top 40 single "You And Me", which topped several charts for months on end.

Serj Tankian - Elect the dead
Elect the Dead is the debut solo album by System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian. He played most of the instruments himself but did get help from System of a Down drummer John Dolmayan and former Primus/current Guns N' RosesBryan "Brain" Mantia, along with Dan Monti on guitar and bass, opera singer Ani Maldjian and some string players, Antonio Pontarelli among them.[2]October 18, 2007. The official tour for Elect the Dead commenced on October 12 with a show at Chicago's Vic theater. drummer The album was leaked on
The first concert had roughly 1,000 people attending, in a medium sized venue. Although Serj had stated he would not be performing any of System of a Down's material, he had performed Charades, a song co-written by Daron Malakian, the guitarist of System of a Down. Although it is originally a song restricted to piano and vocals, Serj used his backing band, The FCC, to provide guitars, drums and bass.
“ | It's very wide sounding — lots of different sounding instruments. The excitement I had making this record was the same excitement I had making the first System record. | „ |
Tankian has stated that while some of the songs are new, a lot of them have been with him for a while. The first singles off the album were "The Unthinking Majority" and "Empty Walls". The song "Saving Us" was released on Tankian's Last.fm page[3] and his MySpace.[4] The video for "Feed Us" was released on the Swedish[5] and UK[6] MTV. Serj recently appeared on MTV's You Rock The Deuce to Promote Elect The Dead. He participated in a number of skits featuring himself playing the roles of producer, director, and other various duties. Instrumental versions of every official album track exist on a promotion disk (PRO-CD-102124) that has been given away by Serjical Strike Records.

Mudvayne - By the People, for the People
By the People, for the People is the second compilation album, and fifth album release by Mudvayne. It was released on November 27, 2007 by Epic Records. The album features a track listing chosen entirely by the band's fans, with the band determining which version appears on the record (e.g. live, demo, acoustic), as well as two new songs, "Dull Boy" and a cover of The Police's song "King of Pain" (both produced by Dave Fortman). Initially, if the album was pre-ordered through the Sony Music Store, it was packaged with a free lithograph of the lyrics to "Dull Boy", signed and numbered by Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray.
By the People, For the People is presented in a format where each song is introduced through a short interlude generally no longer than 30 seconds long, where Chad Gray debriefs the listener on surrounding facts such as where the song was recorded or performed live, or distinguishing a demo from an album version (obviously limited to in the case of demos).
The album debuted at number 51 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling about 22,000 copies in its first week.
