Duffy - Rockferry

Rockferry is the debut studio album by Welsh singer Duffy, first released on March 3, 2008 by A&M Records. Prior to releasing the album, Duffy appeared twice on Jools Holland's music show, performing the tracks "Mercy," "Warwick Avenue" and her version of "The First Cut Is the Deepest."

The album title Rockferry, according to Duffy,[1] is loosely based on Rock Ferry, a suburb of Birkenhead, on the Wirral Peninsula and approximately 10 miles from the Welsh border and 3 miles from Liverpool.

Story of the Year - The Black Swan.

Story of the Year return with their hotly anticipated third studio album, The Black Swan. As the title suggests, the group's latest effort is anything but expected. Combining the addictive choruses of their platinum selling album Page Avenue and the heaviness of In The Wake of Determination, The Black Swan transcends both as their boldest and most accessible album to date.

Eric Avery - Help Wanted

Many more people probably know the name Perry Ferrell then know the name Eric Avery, which is unfair, since Avery co-founded Jane’s Addiction with Ferrell. Since those hazy ‘80s days, Avery has gone on to lead the band Polar Bear and play with the likes of the Smashing Pumpkins, Alanis Morisette, Peter Murphy, and Garbage. That last band’s lead singer, Shirley Manson, makes a guest appearance on Help Wanted, Avery’s first true solo album. So do Flea (playing trumpet, not bass) and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. Of Help Wanted’s thirteen mostly gloomy, introspective tracks, three are subtitled “The Man Who Could Fly.”

Rocket from the Crypt: R.I.P

Rocket from the Crypt was an American rock band led by John Reis, formed in 1990 in San Diego, California and disbanded in 2005. Of Reis' many musical endeavors, Rocket from the Crypt were the most successful and most internationally recognized.

The band gained critical praise and the attention of major record labels after the release of their 1992 album Circa: Now!, leading to a recording contract with Interscope Records. They experienced a surge of popularity with the release of the albums Scream, Dracula, Scream! (1995) and RFTC (1998), accompanied by numerous vinyl singles and EPs released on independent labels. However, album sales were not as high as expected and Interscope soon turned their attention to higher-grossing acts. The band left the label, and shortly thereafter drummer Atom Willard departed the group.

The Smashing Pumpkins - American Gothic

American Gothic is an EP by The Smashing Pumpkins. The EP was announced on the band's website on December 19, 2007 with songwriter Billy Corgan describing it as a continuation of the their 2007 album Zeitgeist.

After playing "Rose March" in Los Angeles in late 2006 at an event organized by Pete Townshend's girlfriend, Corgan was asked by Townshend himself if the song was going to be on Zeitgeist. While the song did not make the album, Corgan always planned to release it in some form, resulting in its appearance on American Gothic.[1]

The EP includes four unreleased tracks recorded in the late 2007 break between tours at the Pass Studio in Los Angeles. In the United States, the EP was released as an exclusive digital release for the iTunes Music Store as part of a re-release of Zeitgeist, but it will receive a physical release internationally.

Corgan said of the EP,

I had written a bunch of material during the residencies in Asheville and San Francisco [earlier this year], and fans kept asking us if we were gonna put any of that stuff out. iTunes came to us wanting to do something together, so it just felt right.

Corgan also made high-resolution artwork for the EP available for download through the band's website.

Marah - Angels of Destruction!

Marah's sixth album, Angels of Destruction!, finds the kids from Philly in a brave new world: new sobriety, new members and of course, new songs. Culled from a Niagara-like output of songs over the past year, Angels of Destruction! is, as David Bielanko puts it, "...the tip of the iceberg and the bottom of the well." Musically, AOD! is Marah doing what Marah does. The album swings with abandon and rocks with greasy soul, all the while paying its respects to the guy-and-a-guitar simplicity that lives at the heart of every rock n' roll song. The title track is a propulsive chilled-out rocker that hints at the larger themes of the album: religion, redemption, destruction and joy. Much like this song and Marah as a whole, AOD! is a phoenix rising from the ashes. It is a jumbo jet slamming the earth in a contorted heap. It is everything and nothing at once. It is rock n' roll.
